Palos Verdes Library, in Palos Verdes Estates,  is located in a beautiful old Spanish style building that sits high on a hill with eucalyptus trees and green lawns surrounding its entrance.  It is located just off Palos Verdes Drive West and a block up from the Malaga Cove Plaza.  There is a a beautiful stone fountain at the base of the steps leading up to the library that is a popular spot for photographers.  An occasional peacock can be seen walking through the grounds.

Malaga Cove Library was constructed in 1930 at the cost of $60,000. In 1995 it was placed on the National Historic Register. The interior still has the original furniture style with Spanish claw foot leather couches and old rustic tables. The multi level space also has an art gallery in the basement which has specialized art shows, and monthly book sales. There are special children’s readers which visit the library to entertain with fun activities.  In walking through the library, you will see art by local artists displayed on the walls. 

The Malaga Cove Library is located at 2400 Via Campesina, Palos Verdes Estates, CA 90274 (310-377-9584 ext 551) and is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
