Peninsula Seniors Lecture Series & Coffee and Cars In April

Palos Verdes homes owners have a wonderful opportunity to hear several interesting topics discussed at the April 2014 Peninsula Seniors Lectures Series.  These Lectures take place at Hesse Park located at 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes, in the Fireside Room on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

April 2 – Dr. William Ailor, founder and former president of the Palos Verdes Land Conservancy will be discussing the threat that asteroids and comets can pose to humanity.  Dr. Ailor joined the Aerospace Corporation in 1974 and is currently principal engineer for the Center for Orbital Aerospace.  This should be an interesting lecture.

April 9 – Dr. Shelly Stockwell-Nicholas has authored 16 books on mastering your mind.  This will be an informative exploration of our intuition and other natural abilities that our senses can pick up.

April 16 – John Crayton piloted the Goodyear blimp for 37 years and will talk about big changes on the Palos Verdes Peninsula from an aerial viewpoint.  It will be amazing to hear his observations of our Peninsula.

April 23 –  Jackie Bacharach will be presenting a brief history on the development of transporation systems and policies in Los Angeles from the 1950’s to today.  She will also discuss future plans that she is aware of, as the Founding Chair of the Souther California Regional Rail Authority.  (This includes Metrolink commuter rail systems and Metro Blue & Green Lines)

April 30 – Mark A. Vieira famed filmaker, photographer and writer will be sharing his fascinating stories of Hollywood history.  Mark has lectured at USC, UCLA, The Hollywood Heritage Museum, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and many other venues.
