South Coast Botanic Garden June Activities!

South Coast Botanic Garden is inviting all Palos Verdes homes owners to come and enjoy some outdoor fun.  May 31, 2015, they will offer the First Club Momme Stroll N”Run 5k which is sure to bring out many of us that just want to go the extra mile to live a healthy lifestyle.  This event was developed by Katie McFarland, the mommy behind the famous Mom’s Little Running Buddy, and is for all family members to enjoy.  The price is $35 per runner/walker, and $15 per child runner/walker.  Registration is required for this event through http://www.strollnrun.com/.

On June 7, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Family Picnic Day – Summer Solstice will take place at the lower meadow.  This is included with the paid garden admission.  The garden is in full bloom so it is a great time to see the summer blooms and learn more about what the Solstice means.  There is an informative brochure located in the gift shop.  Picnics are not provided, but you can bring your own.

Also on June 7, 2015, the Ferrari Car Show will be held at the upper meadow from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  This is included with the paid garden admission.  The Ferrari has been in production since 1943 and this beautiful automobile has won over 5,000 races all over the world.  These legendary cars will be available for viewing and no registration is required.

During the weeks of June 15, June 22, July 6, July 13, July 20, July 27, August 3, August 10 & August 17, 2015, from Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. a fun children’s camp will be in full swing.  For ages K – 6th grade (as of next fall), Hey Kids Robots & Rockets are landing near you.  They will build a walking Dino-Robot, launching a roaring rocket and unmask superhero science to construct their own Super Hero mobile.  Kids will be busy exploring much more.  For more information and pricing information call (888) 909-2833.

June 16, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. you can come and enjoy Free Day – No Garden Admission.  This is free for all visitors to enter the Garden on the the third Tuesday of the Month.  No registration is required for this event.
