Palos Verdes High Schools Rank In Top 500 Nationally

Palos Verdes Unified School District Graduation Caps

Newsweek has selected the 500 best high schools in the nation in 2015 and both Palos Verdes High Schools were included.  Newseeek’s criteria included a “broad range of data” including graduation rates as well as SAT, ACT and AP exam scores.  As both of our local high schools ranked so high, it indicates how hard school counselors and staff work to challenge students with advanced placement college-level courses and tests.

Palos Verdes Peninsula High School was ranked #72 in the nation and Palos Verdes High School is #236.  These schools both rated high in the system for college readiness, graduation rates and college bound students.  District success is not accidental.  Both Palos Verdes and Peninsula High schools receive high rankings in the Newsweek rating system because of their open door policy to college level courses.  Students at both high schools are encouraged to stretch themselves and enroll in high level courses.

The Peninsula Education Foundation which helps support our local school district with funding for counselors, teachers and school programs, have raised their goal for this new 2015-2016 school year to $3.4 million.  This funding is necessary to keep these programs running to help our students achieve these high goals.
