Palos Verdes Concours D’Elegance 2015
The theme this year for the 23rd annual Palos Verdes Concours D’Elegance will be Automotive Standards of the World. The event will take place on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Los Verdes Golf Club overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You will stroll through rolling green lawns and enjoy the pristine Concours quality automobiles that define the classic standards. The 2015 Concours featured marques will be Cadillac, Darrin Coachwork and Ferrari. Cadillac will be celebrating its 100 years anniversary. Darrin Coachwork has built cars for the stars for years including the likes of Clark Gable. Ferrari will be featured with two classes of cars built between 1950 – 1972.
This year’s, Grand Marshall is Los Angeles County Supervisor, Don Knabe, and the new Chief Judge for the Concours will be Peter Kjellberg. There are twenty one classes of automobiles that exemplify excellence in the automotive world which will be on view. They include the Brass, Antiques, Cadillacs, European Classics, American Classes, Packard, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lincoln, Mercedes, Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar and more. In addition to viewing all of the exhibited cars, there will be a shopping area for gifts and dining at the club house.
Tickets prices are $30, and groups of 10 or more can pre-purchase tickets for $20 by going to the website at www.pvconcours.org. Children under 12 are free. Parking for the event is free and because of limited space will be by shuttle only. You will find free parking at the Promenade Shopping Center – enter on Norris Center Drive (formerly Crossfield Drive) and volunteers will guide you to the parking spaces. There is a shuttle that will pick up in front of the Norris Theatre (27570 Norris Center Drive, Rolling Hills Estates) and take you for a 7 minute drive to Los Verdes Golf Course.
