In the Golf Course Contemporary (above left) this 4,100 square foot home has a place for everything since the owner is a woman contractor who has a talent for interior design.  This includes everything from specific sized closets to fit golf shirts to special refrigerator drawers to intimately fit her active lifestyle.  The home has a neutral color scheme which extends through the home including the custom designed furniture and French oak flooring.  In the Cozy Cottage (above right) the owner completely re-imagined this 2,500 square foot Valmonte cottage to make it perfect for her and her two teenage sons, while keeping the integrity of the home’s original Spanish flavor.  The owner found perfect accessories such as pedestal sinks and lighting fixtures to complement the decor.

The Industrial Chic (above left) is a 2,000 square foot townhome which studies the urban industrial loft style. This unique unit was converted by a self described city woman and includes a boy cave, a loft meditation room and a great collection of street art and family antiques.  Some of the key pieces on view are a bright red Italian racing motorcycle, the cave’s climbing wall and the art on the walls.  In the Serene Native Garden (above right) the owner of this large garden realized seven years ago that it was time for a major change and began experimenting (with her daughter’s assistance) to find drought tolerant plants to replace her English perennials and roses.  She proved that filling a garden with succulents, natives and other drought tolerant plants doesn’t mean you have to loose the variety of foliage, color and texture to preserve the sense of harmony in the design.

The tour starts at the Palos Verdes Art Center where you will pick up your map and self-drive to two diverse homes and the garden stop.  There will be a shuttle from the Art Center to the bonus loft-style town home. Complimentary valet parking is available at the Art Center where you will also enjoy a STRIPES gourmet lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., shop collectibles and boutiques, have an opportunity to buy fine art and a chance to win a door prize.

To participate in this fun event you can purchase tickets online at www.pvhomestour.org, or at the Palos Verdes Art Center located at 5504 W. Crestridge, Rancho Palos Verdes.
