CANCELLED Palos Verdes Estates 3rd Annual Energy & Environment Expo
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED with the following notation on the Palos Verdes Estates City website: “The failure of Measure D has caused the staff to evaluate how it can achieve savings to reduce expenditures. The Energy and Environment Expo is an event that has been held two years with relatively low participation. In order to save on overtime costs, the event is being cancelled this year.”
Palos Verdes Estates will be hosting its third annual Energy and Environment Expo on Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is an informative and free event for Palos Verdes homes owners to enjoy. The Expo will take place on the greenbelt located in front of Palos Verdes Estates City Hall and at the Civic Center Park adjacent to City Hall located on Palos Verdes Drive West.
Once again the City’s waste hauler, Athens Services, will be providing free compost (while supplies last) to residents who bring their own sturdy containers or buckets. Athen’s compost is a blend of organic material including food waste. It is OMRI Listed, licensed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, and approved for use in agricultural operations certified organic under the USDA National Organic Program. This is a self service program and compost cannot be placed in plastic bags, so containers are a must and there is a 30 gallon limit while supplies last.
There will also be exhibitors offering information on Helping to Protect and Maintain our Local Environment, Going Green and Sustainability. There will also be a special exhibit on Energy Conservation. Staff will be on hand to help residents understand these valuable tools. This is a great event for the whole family with several activities; and food will be available for purchase.
For additional information, please call the City at (310) 378-0383 or go to www.pvestates.org.
