Palos Verdes South Coast Botanic Garden Free Admission Day!

The South Coast Botanic Garden which is sometimes called “The Jewel of the Peninsula,” has its free admission day coming up which is a special gift for Palos Verdes homes owners to enjoy.  On the third Tuesday of every month, visitors are allowed to walk these gorgeous gardens to enjoy the blooming trees, shrubs and flowers as they transition from their spring blooms into early summer with plenty of color.  The Botanic Garden has more than 2,500 different species of plants from as far away as Australia, the Mediterranean, and southern Africa. The garden is located in Sunset’s “Zone 23,” which is considered to be one of the most favored growing areas in the world.  This variety of plant life provides food and shelter to an abundant wildlife and bird population, and thundreds of bird species have been seen at the garden annually.  There is something here for everyone including a small lake, Mediterranean Garden, Children’s Garden, Rose Garden, Fuchsia Garden, Dahlia Garden, Japanese Garden, Herb Garden and of course for our local residents – a Water-Wise Garden.  In addition to all the garden areas, there is an attractive Wedding Lawn and two Gazebos, Events Meadow, and Frances Young Auditorium which is available for events. Outside of the garden gates there is also a picnic area.  Don’t worry about parking; it is free and there is an abundance of it.

The Summer is a great time to get outdoors, enjoy a relaxing walk, and find some fresh landscaping ideas to try at home.  The next free day at the Garden is on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The South Coast Botanic Garden is located at 26300 Crenshaw Blvd, Palos Verdes Peninsula.  For more information you can go to http://southcoastbotanicgarden.org/, or call (310) 544-1948.
