Palos Verdes Costume Closet 2018 Extended October Hours
Halloween stores have already began popping up around the area and children and adults are already choosing this year’s costume. As a benefit for Palos Verdes homes owners, the Costume Closet in Palos Verdes will extend their hours beginning October 13, 2018, and continue through November 3, 2018. The extended store hours will be Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. On October 31, 2018, the store will only be open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. so that the staff can enjoy the holiday also. To make it easier to return your costumes after Halloween, they will be keeping special hours from November 1, through Saturday, November 3, 2018. The hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 4, 2018, they will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After November 4, 2018, they will return to normal business hours.
If you haven’t been to the Costume Closet lately then you are in for a big surprise! Along with their inventory which has grown to over 8,000 costumes, they have increased not only their Halloween costume area, but also their theatrical/period clothing, wedding/formal wear and high end vintage clothing. Their accessory and shoe department has tripled and now can be accessed quickly with their new computer system. Their new website is divided into children and adult areas and you can see costumes being modeled. If you find a costume that you would like to try on, there will be a specific identification number to locate the costume. Going online to find that perfect costume idea is a great way to save time. Also the rental pricing cannot be beat, and rental periods are usually for a week except for specialty items and theatrical costumes. Credit cards are now accepted for payment. It is a good idea to reserve your costumes early as they go fast. Whether you’re doing a school project, dressing for Halloween, or need something fun for a costume party, Costume Closet is the place to visit. You can find just about everything here and you will be able to complete your entire look with all their accessories.
The Costume Closet is located in the former Malaga Cove School grounds in Palos Verdes Estates near the Palos Verdes School District headquarters. It is a community service program of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Council of PTAs and is supported by volunteers which keep this non profit running. Originally, the Costume Closet was organized to help support the community’s need for theatrical costuming for its local schools; but now, after forty years, it has developed into a full party event supplier. The Costume Closet is looking for teamwork oriented high school volunteers from Palos Verdes to help out; volunteers will receive community service hours.
