The most expensive home sold in Palos Verdes actually closed on December 7, 2007, for $12,900,000, with an original asking price of $13,250,000. Recently, with all of the press (click here to read) regarding the most expensive Southern California home sold to date which was a single family home closing in the Los Angeles Westside area for over $102 million, Palos Verdes homeowners want to know about our own Palos Verdes real estate sales.
The most expensive home sold in Palos Verdes can’t compare with with the miniature Versailles mansion in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles with its three bidders or the most expensive U.S. home sold (setting a record) in the northern California community of Woodside which sold last year for $117,500,000 and may have included other considerations. According to the California Regional Multiple Listing Service a Rolling Hills home located on Crest Road is the most expensive Palos Verdes home sold at $12,900,000. This home had 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and is approximately 8,623 square feet. The property is located on a 3.84 acre lot and was known for its design elements. The views included those of Catalina Island and the Pacific Ocean to the south, and Los Angeles city lights to the north. There is a lovely guest house which overlooks the pool and beautiful orchard, plus 2 private offices, theatre, large gym, sauna, and an outdoor kitchen.
Currently, the highest priced Palos Verdes home for sale is in the city of Rolling Hills listed for $53,000,000 and has been on the market since June 25, 2013. It features 9 bedrooms. 25 bathrooms and sits on a 7.73 acre lot. The house boasts 6 stories, 5 of which are underground due to height restrictions in the city of Rolling Hills, a guesthouse, 5-story indoor tennis court, a 10,000 sq. ft.
