365 Things To Do In Palos Verdes – Palos Verdes Estates Senior Event

PVE-CARES will be holding its annual Senior Awareness/Health Fair Day, this Friday, November 5th, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Neighborhood Church, located at 415 Paseo Del Mar, Palos Verdes Estates.  PVE-CARES (Palos Verdes Estates Community Assistance and Resources for the Elderly and Seniors) is an unique program created by our Palos Verdes Estates Police Department to assist in “Caring for Those Who Cared for Us .”  PVE-CARES offers many resources to help senior residents prepare to stay safe and independent in their own homes.

Any Palos Verdes Estates’ resident age 65 and older or any “dependent adult” age 18-64 may register for PVE-CARES.  A dependent adult is defined as anyone with physical or mental limitations that restrict one’s ability to carry on normal activities or to protect rights.  You can register by calling the PVE-CARES Coordinator at (310)-378-4211 x 2131, or there will be a table at the event where you can sign up and a volunteer will explain the benefits offered.

Seniors may bring unused or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medication for disposal to the Health Fair so that they may be properly discarded in an effort to reduce pollutants in our water and land.  The Senior Awareness/Health Fair Day offers free flu shots for seniors, other medical screenings and a sample of local resources for seniors, and drawings for prizes.
