Palos Verdes Stables Offers Pony Camp 2022!

!

Palos Verdes homes owners realize that the school year is coming to an end and now is the time to reserve summer camps for your children to enjoy. If your children are interested in horses, the Palos Verdes Stables pony camp might be a good way to introduce them to the world of horsemanship.

The summer riding camp at Palos Verdes Stables provides children the opportunity to experience the horse world in a safe, hands on environment. Campers not only learn horse safety, proper horsemanship and basic riding skills, but their self-confidence grows as well. This will allow them to become more knowledgeable and comfortable around the horses. The stables offer experienced and energetic counselors who provide close supervision, instruction and encouragement for each camper. The camp even offers a unique amount of actual riding time for each student…an hour of riding each day and the opportunity for that experience both in the riding ring and trail riding. This program is for all levels of riders, from ages 6 through 12.

In addition to horsemanship skills, they also teach campers grooming & tacking of their horse.  Campers also have free time to enjoy fun arts & crafts, painting a pony, and games.

The cost of weekly camps is $550 for Palos Verdes Estate residents, and $575 for non-residents. There will be 10 to 12 campers only in the group. The Camps will go from June 13 through August 26, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For more information click here.

Palos Verdes Stables is located at 4057 Via Opata, Palos Verdes Estates.

Palos Verdes AYSO Fall 2022 Registration Is Open Online!

ayso sign up 2015

Palos Verdes AYSO Soccer (Region 10) is currently accepting online registration for Fall 2022. Due to the Coronavirus there will be no in person registration for this year. The Palos Verdes Region 10 of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) offers year round recreational and competitive youth soccer programs locally for four year olds (U5 division) all the way up to 19 year olds (U19).  Several years ago, the AYSO National changed the age divisions and it is now based on birthdays January 1 through December 31st.  The age of your child in 2023 will determine their Fall division.  The home page at http://ayso.bluesombrero.com/region10 will show the division and age slots.

The online registration for the new Fall soccer season is open and all players (new or returning) must register online.  All parents must go to the registration website at http://ayso.bluesombrero.com/region10 and create a new account (for your child). If you registered your child in the past at eayso.org, you will enter your child’s name identically into the new registration website, his/her ID will be automatically transferred to the new registration site.

The cost for early registration now through July 1, 2022, is $175 for your first child, and $160 for each additional child.  If registering between July 2, and July 31, 2022, the cost will be $200 and no sibling discount.  After August 1, 2022, the cost will be $225 and there will be no sibling discount. All registration takes place online, and cash and checks are no longer accepted.

If you are interested in volunteering, you will find the required paperwork on the registration site.  Since AYSO is a 100% volunteer organization, they are always looking for volunteers to fill coach and referee positions.  (There is a special express line at registration for volunteers.)   If your child has not played the previous year, you will be required to submit proof of your child’s age either by birth certificate or passport.
