Robert E. Ryan Community Park is Rancho Palos Verdes’ first park which was transferred from the County at the time of the city’s incorporation in 1973. It is located at 30359 Hawthorne Boulevard; just as Hawthorne turns and heads downhill with the spectacular views of the ocean and Catalina. The park has many large grass areas some of which are used for different activities during the week such as soccer and baseball. It is approximately 10 acres, has great play areas with large climbing units and also a younger tot area. There is a large picnic area surrounded by lots of mature trees with several barbecues and picnic tables. On the property you will find a community building that has a small activity room and a nice patio which is available to rent for special occasions.
Park hours are: Monday-Friday 12:00 pm to dusk, Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am to dusk. Summer hours are: Daily 10:00 am to dusk. The park is closed January1, Thanksgiving Day, December 24 & 25th. For more information call (310) 377-2290.
