365 Things To Do In Palos Verdes – Hike From Del Cerro Park

Hiking in Palos Verdes takes you through varied terrain usually with spectacular ocean views.  There are 4 different trails which can be accessed from Del Cerro Park.  All four trails are part of the Canyons Ecological Reserve and vary in length from 2 to 4 miles.  Del Cerro Park can be hiked in approximately one hour and is considered to be an easy hike.  It consists of 1.6 miles round trip and is one of the more well maintained trails.  This short, pleasant hike provides you with spectacular views of the Palos Verdes coastline.  Catalina Island is clearly visible and sometimes you can even see San Nicolas Island 70 miles out to sea.

Park your car at the park and walk up to the grassy hill a few hundred feet to a great overlook.  Besides seeing some of the most beautiful coastline around, you can also see the Wayfarers Chapel and some multi million dollar homes while hiking.  Note also that the Shipwreck Trail is also in this general area.

Park hours are dawn to dusk.  The address for Del Cerro Park is #2 Park Place, Rancho Palos Verdes and can be accessed at the south end of Crenshaw Boulevard.
