Palos Verdes homes owners are once again able to enjoy more free local services. Beginning May 1, Palos Verdes Library District has teamed up with Freegal, a free music download service, and library users have access to the entire Sony music catalog. The Sony music collection is one of the largest and contains genres from classical to country, popular to movie soundtracks. On Freegal, you are able to browse the collection and listen to the clips even before downloading the song. There is also a viewing of artists from A to Z.
Even better, Freegal is offering these songs DRM-free, which means that once you’ve downloaded the music you own it. This is great because then you can transfer it from your computer to your iPod or MP3 player and then back to your computer again without any hassle.
To access Freegal, go to www.pvld.org, using your library card number, and then go to the online resources task bar. At that point just go to Music, and click on Freegal. You will be given download instructions after that. What a great way to get all your favorite music choices just with a click of your mouse. Freegal is for cardholders in the 90274 & 90275 zip codes, and you can get up to three free song downloads each week.
