Have you ever wondered what gourmet ingredients may be growing in your own back yard? Sunday, August 21, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the South Coast Botanic Garden will be introducing their Flavored Vinegar Workshop. Connie Vadheim, Adj Professor of Biology, CSUDH, will be teaching the uses of leaves, flowers and berries of popular Southern California native plants which can be found in the yards of Palos Verdes homes owners, to enhance the flavor of cooking vinegars with one of a kind ingredients.
The workshop will have a presentation on specific Southern California native plants, a focused garden walk, and a tasting of different vinegars which will be demonstrated in basic recipes. Each participant will get to prepare one bottle of flavored vinegar which they can take home.
