The South Coast Botanic Garden is offering a series of winter classes on Saturday mornings in January and February. This is a great opportunity for Palos Verdes homes owners to enjoy these beautiful gardens. Classes will be held at the Koi Pond Patio, and includes both Tai Chi and Yoga sessions. This gives you the opportunity to exercise in a natural setting instead of a studio environment and you will feel the peace and energy of the gardens around you. The pace and difficultly of these classes are appropriate for most individuals.
Tai Chi in the Garden, will be taught by Master Wang Hui, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays in January and February 2013. This ancient Chinese Technique emphasizes relaxation, balance coordination and agility, as well as flexibility and mental discipline. The cost of each class is $10 and drop-ins are allowed.
Yoga in the Garden will take place from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., and each class will begin with gentle stretching and progress to deeper stretches and flow yoga. The instructor for the series is Renee Yazdi. You will need to bring a mat, and dress in comfortable clothes. In case of rain, you may be moved inside to a dryer location. Drop-ins are allowed at $15/class for non-members and $12/class for members.
If you are interested in attending, please register at the gift shop. Cash is required as payment for the classes. For more information call (310) 544-1948, or log on to southcoastbotanicgarden.org.
