Summer is here and your children may be looking for activities to fill their days. This past month, I have written about some activities for your children to enjoy and below are some additional camps for Summer 2013 that are available here on the Peninsula for Palos Verdes homes owners.
PV Surf Camp is a youth surf camp for ages 6-15. The camp offers various programs depending on age and skill level. The programs vary for the participant who has never surfed and requires one to one support in the water at all times, to the intermediate surfer who wants to improve their skills. The camp starts in June with weekly sessions up until August 19, 2013. For more information go to www.pvsurfcamp.com, or call (310) 908-8164.
Palos Verdes Stables Pony Camp has activities for children 4 and up. This is a great way to introduce your children to safe riding skills and how to care for a horse. The day starts off with grooming and saddling and then each small group will have a riding lesson in the area. Besides playing different horse themed games, the campers untack and groom their horses while learning and practicing good horsemanship. Summer camp sessions run for 10 weeks. For more information, go to www.PalosVerdesStables.com or call (310) 634-3103.
For years, Peninsula Sports Camps have been entertaining children with their full and half day camps in Palos Verdes. These camps are held at Palos Verdes High School which overlooks the ocean on the west side of the Peninsula. Not only have they recently replaced the turf on the soccer and football fields, but they have also put in a beautiful baseball diamond and a magnificent new swimming pool. The great thing about these camps is the variety. Children can enjoy their favorite sport – baseball, basketball, tennis and soccer, and then enjoy a swim in the pool to cool off. They have a snack shop where the kids can purchase lunch. At the end of their camp, they will receive awards for their sports. For more information on Peninsula Sports Camps, go to peninsulasportscamps.com or call (310) 377-0690.
Recently, rugby teams have gained popularity here on the Peninsula. This year marks the second annual PV Rugby Summer Camp which takes place in July/August. For more information go to www.pvrugby.com.
Peninsula Bay Cities Day Camp and Swim School is located at Marymount College in Rancho Palos Verdes. This camp has been operating for 18 years and will offer a traditional summer day camp program with instructions in swimming, archery, all court, diamond and field sports, art & crafts and other activities. For more information on this camp, go to www.pbcdaycamp.com or call (310) 541-3664. Campers can be from 4-14 years of age.
