Palos Verdes Performing Arts Presents “Cats”
Palos Verdes home owners are fortunate to have the Norris Theatre located right here on the Peninsula. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary Broadway musical, “Cats,” will be presented at the Norris Theatre in Rolling Hills Estates with performances from April 24 through May 10, 2015. This Broadway musical is the second longest running show in Broadway history running more than 25 years, and has won seven Tony awards including Best Musical.
The story is based on T.S. Eliot’s collection of poems, “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.” The musical tells the imaginative story of the annual gathering of the Jellicle cats, where one of them will be chosen to ascend to the Heaviside Layer to be reborn. Through song and dance, each cat tries to show the wise elder, that they are the most worthy of new life. “Cats” is a great way to introduce families to the wonders of live, professional theater with dazzling choreography and whimsical feline costumes.
Performance times for “Cats” at the Norris Theatre are 8:00 p.m. on Fridays & Saturdays and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays, as well as 2:00 p.m.matinees on Saturday May 2 and 9.
