Palos Verdes Peninsula Seniors Lectures & Coffee & Cars August 2016

The Peninsula Seniors Lecture Series August 2016 is a great opportunity for Palos Verdes homes owners to hear interesting speakers.  These Lectures take place at Hesse Park located at 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes, in the Fireside Room on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

August 3, 2016 – Dr. David Meyer, CEO of LA Biomed – Genetic Medicine: The right treatment for the right person at the right time. Dr. Meyer will be discussing the genetic revolution that is becoming a major force in our lives from GMO’s to the diagnosis and treatment of common diseases.

August 10, 2016 – Carla Mathis – Two Discoveries – Carla Mathis is a published author, trainer, and president /co-founder of The Style Core.  Her famous book, The Triumph of Individual Style, is used to design schools here and abroad.  She will be discussing the two discoveries that help to reveal the connection between our aesthetic preferences and how are bodies are designed.

August 17, 2016 – Dr. Shelly Stockwell Nicholas PhD – Story Telling 101, is a local resident and author of 19 books.  Her latest “Story Telling 101” reminds us of our own adventure that we call life.  Shelly is the President of the International Hypnosis Federation, and also the Creator of Joy Therapy.  She will be sharing her old and new stories.

August 24, 2016 – Rosemary Novellino-Means – Saving Radio City Music Hall – brief history of what really happened.  Rosemary’s presentation is about Saving Radio City Music Hall in 1978  when the hall was to be closed and demolished.

August 31, 2016 – Melanie Dreike – Quilter Extraordinaire – Quilting isn’t what it used to be.  Melanie will be discussing new equipment that is currently being used in the quilting circles to help with pattern making and quality quilting.

COFFEE & CARS

On Saturday, August 7. 2016, the Peninsula Seniors will sponsor Coffee & Cars at the Peninsula Shopping Center (Silver Spur Road and Hawthorne Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates).  A group of car enthusiasts will bring their Hot Rod, Custom, Muscle Car, Sports Car, Antique, and other special interest vehicles, to the Peninsula Shopping Center parking lot where you can admire the cars, meet the owners and ask them questions.

Coffee & Cars is held the first Saturday of every month from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the back parking area near the intersection of Crossfield Drive and Indian Peak Road (across from the Norris Theatre) in the Peninsula Shopping Center.  Each month, a different type of car is featured.
