Cherry Blossom 2018 Festival Coming To Palos Verdes!
The Cherry Blossoms are starting to bloom and the Cherry Blossom Festival will be coming soon for Palos Verdes homes owners to see these beautiful blossoms at the South Coast Botanic Garden. Since they have a short blooming season, many believe Cherry Blossoms symbolize the fleeting beauty of life. Cherry Blossoms are the symbolic national flower of Japan and are said to be an omen of good fortune and an emblem of love and affection. This is the closest location for us to see the beauty and color of these trees and this yearly event reminds us that Spring is just around the corner.
On Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., bring a picnic or purchase a bento (lunch) box (that will be for sale by Okamoto Kitchen Food Truck) and enjoy the live performances that will take place throughout the afternoon. There will be special areas set up for children to enjoy fun activities beginning at 12:00 noon. Come for a visit, enjoy nature, and celebrate these gorgeous blooms. The Sakura Meadows, Amphitheater Lawn and upper and lower Meadows will be open for picnicking on this special day. The upper Meadow will have live cultural performances during the day with many being sponsored by the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute.
The price for admission to the South Coast Botanic Garden is: adults $9, seniors $6, students with I.D. $6, children 5-12 $4, and children 4 and under are free.
