Household Hazardous Waste, document shredding and e-waste disposals are important for Palos Verdes homes owners. It gives us a chance to get rid of all the articles we have been saving throughout the year that cannot be picked up at regular trash collections. In October, there are two different opportunities for Palos Verdes Estates & Rancho Palos Verdes residents.
Rancho Palos Verdes residents will have the opportunity on Saturday, October 17, 2020, to have their documents shredded by EDCO and the City of Rancho Palos Verdes. They are sponsoring this free document paper shredding from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Rancho Palos Verdes Civic Center. The center is located at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd, Rancho Palos Verdes. This drop-off is for Rancho Palos Verdes residents only. Residents can safely dispose of personal documents right there on site. You can bring up to three “bankers” boxes per household. Electronic waste will also be collected at the same time and location. If you get there early you might be able to get some free mulch if you bring your own trash cans (up to 3), gloves and a shovel – while the supply lasts. There is absolutely no hazardous waste material accepted at this location.
Palos Verdes Estates will be holding it’s annual Household Hazardous Waste Round Up with a “Door- to-Door Collection” on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Athens Services will be providing this event for Palos Verdes Estates residents only, and all items must be placed on your porch by 7:00 a.m. For safety reasons they do not want the items placed at the curb or in your trash areas. There is a onetime collection fee of $35.00 for this scheduled pick up. In order to participate in this service, you must call in advance by Thursday, October 15, 2020 to schedule a pick up collection. Remember this is Hazardous Waste which is fluorescent light bulbs, oil, paint, household/car batteries and antifreeze. To make arrangement for this pick up call (888) 336-6100 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday) or 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on (Saturdays).
Palos Verdes Estates Annual Bulky Waste & E-Waste Collection Day will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2020. We will provide more information closer to the actual event date.
