Palos Verdes Peninsula’s Shop “Local” First

Malaga Cove Center, Palos Verdes Estates, CA 90274

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has adopted a “Local First” initiative to help further our local economy and to show residents all the benefits that our community receives by supporting our local businesses.

For the month of October, the Chamber is encouraging residents to be aware of the historic business plazas of Malaga Cove and Lunada Bay which offer a unique blend of retailers, financial institutions, real estate, food and dining,  and other professional services.  The aim to to help re-circulate money spent by our community to locally owned businesses which perhaps you may not have used in the past.  This helps our community maintain and improve our infrastructure and help continue the special quality of life that the Palos Verdes Peninsula offers to its residents.  Shopping local also helps to strengthen the local economy and keep businesses in town while also keeping sales tax dollars in our own area to help pay for these public services.  Statistics show that local small business owners pay more in donations to local non profits than  larger businesses outside of our area.

Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is helping to support the “Local First” initiative with the PVP (Peninsula Privileges Program) which offers special savings and discounts to shoppers.  Instead of running to the large malls, fighting the crowds and trying to find a parking space, why not shop here in Palos Verdes?  Palos Verdes homes owners can go to www.PVPcoupons.com to see all the great free coupons for retail, dining, health & fitness, hotels, special services, promotions and others.  You’ll find that the customer service at our local establishments is great and they employ our own Palos Verdes residents.  More information about the initiative can be found on the chamber’s website at www.palosverdeschamber.com, or by calling  (310) 377-8111.
