The Tall Ships Are Engaging In Battle Off The Coast!

If you are looking for something fun for your holiday gift giving, tickets to these fantastic tall ship battles would be a great idea!  Four ships will be reproducing an 18th century naval skirmish, complete with mock cannon firing.  These adventures will take place on December 26 & 29, 2012, off the coast of San Pedro right next door to Palos Verdes homes.

The Lady Washington, Hawaiian Chieftain and Los Angeles’ own Exy Johnson and Irving Johnson are the tall masted ships taking part in the three hour battle from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on December 26th & 29th. Guests are able to participate by helping to raise sails, sing chanteys or even take the helm, depending on sea conditions.

Tickets are $40 and $60 (for a chance to be at the helm). For more information and to make reservations go to http://bit.ly/VbSQ84. To ride the Lady Washington or Hawaiian Chieftan call (800) 200-5239. Tickets for space aboard the Exy Johnson and Irving Johnson are available at www.lamitopsail.org or by calling (310) 833-6055.

If you are interested in staying ashore, there are walk-on tours from December 21 to January 1, 2013. There is no ticket required, but you are asked to give a $3 donation to help defer the costs.
