Palos Verdes Library District March 2018 Activities

The Palos Verdes Library District offers several opportunities for Palos Verdes homes owners during the month of March.  There are interesting classes for both adults and children to enjoy.  Listed below are just a few of the great events that are available:

The Opiod Crisis will be offered on Friday, March, 2, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. in the Peninsula Center Library community room.  Dr. Donnie Watson of the Thelma McMillen Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center will be speaking on “The Opiod Crisis.”  Dr. Watson will discuss the origin of the crisis, its widespread development, and what we can do about it.

Art Event will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. in the Malaga Cove Library Art Gallery.  This is a special art themed storytime with local painter Don Crocker.  You can join in for interesting stories, creating art and viewing a painting demonstration.

Boomers and Beyond – upcoming classes about “Aging Well” on the Peninsula.  Feldenkrais will take place on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Peninsula Center Library community room.  Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach will take place on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Palos Verdes Golf Course located at 3301 Via Campesina, Palos Verdes Estates.  Brain Games will take place on Wednesdays March 14, 21 & 28, 2018, in the Peninsula Center Library community room.  Art Event will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Malaga Cove Library.

Facts in the Stacks Trivia Challenge will take place on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the Peninsula Center Library community room.  If you think you are a trivia master,  gather your friends, and sign up to test your knowledge at the PVLD Facts in the Stacks Trivia Challenge.

Don Crocker will show his art exhibit from March 2 through 31, 2018, at the Malaga Cove Library & Gallery.

Desert Island Escape will take place on March 16, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library community room.  This is recommended for grades 4 and up.

Passport Volunteers are needed at the Library and if you are interested, please call (310) 377-9584 ext. 276.
