365 Things To Do In Palos Verdes – Pets on the Promenade

Pets On The Promenade, Palos Verdes, CA 90274

On Saturday, October 23rd, from 10:a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the Palos Verdes Realtors Association Affiliates in Action, is hosting its first Pets on the Promenade.  This is following the new concept of NO PET LEFT BEHIND!  There will be dogs from Doggie 911, Paws with Needs, and South Bay Cats.  The Promenade on the Peninsula is located at 550 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274 (click here for map).

Hundreds of animals have found themselves looking for a place to live due to the financial problems that their owners incurred – from loosing a home to foreclosure, or just not having a job that allows the extra expenditures.  The local shelters are trying their best to find homes for these furry friends, but not enough people are going through their doors to take on an extra pet.  This  new event is a way to show off  rescued animals, and encourage residents to come out with their pets to enjoy the day.

There will be everything from a parade to a costume contest.  There will be contests for the best kiss, best tail, best bark, best trick and best look alike.  There will be raffles and booths that carry all your dog needs and wants, speakers and demonstrations.  Local offices have also put up donation boxes and are encouraging donations of blankets, toys and treats to benefit the local rescue organizations. The Re/Max Palos Verdes office located at 63 Malaga Cove Plaza has a box just waiting to be filled with animal goodies.  For more information on Saturday’s events call (310)377-4873/or www.pvpar.com.
