There is a lot of activity at our local South Coast Botanic Garden this summer. They are having fun events for all ages to enjoy. While Palos Verdes homes owners can enjoy summer concerts at different locations on the Peninsula, the Garden is creating their very own Kids Summer Concerts for children to enjoy. The next two concerts are:
On August 7, 2011, from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Upper Event Meadow, Norman Foote will be entertaining childres with his irreverent comedy and skillful music. He is the writer for Shari Lewis, CBC syndicated TV show “Scoop & Doozie”, and most recently the live musicals “Max & Ruby” and “Toopy & Binoo”. Norman has received multiple awards for not only his live music, but also his music videos.
On August 28, 2011, from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Upper Event Meadow, Charlotte Diamond will be performing with her Hug Bug Band. She has produced such shows as “10 Carrot Diamond”, which won the Canadian Juno Award, and favorites like “Four hugs a Day”, ” I am a Pizza” and “Dicky Dinasour”. Her lively music and singable songs inspire children to care for one another and celebrate diversity.
The grounds will open for picnics at 4:30 p.m. The actual concerts will be starting at 5:30 p.m. Advance ticket prices are $8 children 2-12 years/$10 adults. At the door prices are $10 children/$12 adults. For more information contact (310) 544-1948.
