Even though it hardly feels like fall with temperatures soaring in the 80’s, Halloween is just around the corner. Local neighborhoods are planning lots of holiday fun at several different venues for Palos Verdes homes owners.
On Saturday, October 22, 2011, between the hours of 12-2p.m. “Halloween Spooktacular” will take place at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall, located at 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard, in Rancho Palos Verdes. This is a fun event because not only can you decorate your own pumpkin, but you can also be a part of the pumpkin races. Pumpkin race packages will be available for $5 the day of the race (You can start building your racers at 11:00 a.m.). There will be a contest for the best carved pumpkin, face painting, games and much more. There will be a children’s costume parade, and a best dressed pet parade. On Sunday, October 23, 2011, the Valmonte Sunrise PTA will have their annual Fall Festival benefiting the Sunrise Preschool Program and Valmonte Developmental Kindergarten, located at 3801 Via La Selva, Palos Verdes Estates. The fun will start and 11:00 a.m, and continue until 3:00 p.m., with games, kids activities, music ensembles, a pumpkin patch and more.
