Athens Services will be holding a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day event for Palos Verdes Estates residents. This door to door collection will take place on Friday, October 26, 2012., and will only be availabe for those customers who sign up in advance. This is a great opportunity to have all of those products picked up that you are not able to dispose of.
In order to schedule a collection you must call by October 24, and at that time you will have to notify them of the items and quantities that you wish to have picked up on October 26th. There is a one time fee of $35.00 for this pick up and disposal.
The program will pick up light bulbs, oil, paint, household and car batteries, and antifreeze products. Customer Service must be contacted at (888) 336-6100, to schedule your pick up.
Also remember that throughout the year the S.A.F.E. Collection site (household hazardous) is open on Saturday & Sunday’s from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at 1400 N. Gaffey St., San Pedro, 90021.
