Special Palos Verdes Geology Hike At George F Canyon Nature Preserve

Palos Verdes homes owners can learn more about their beautiful surroundings here in Palos Verdes, by joining the South Coast Geological Society, on Saturday, November 3, 2012, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.,  for a special geology hike at the George F Canyon Nature Preserve.

While the canyon offers monthly walks through the preserve, this special hike will feature guest Walk Leaders who will be discussing 65 million years of local geological history while moving through the canyon.  Your conservancy naturalists will be guiding you through a world of discovery in the canyon.  Your guide will not only teach you about the habitat, geology, drainage, wildlife and folklore, but will be able to answer your questions about what makes these canyons so popular and important to us.

This hike will be starting at the George F. Canyon Nature Preserve, located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates.  There is a suggested $5 donation for the hike. For more information about this special activity, or to make reservations, which are recommended, please call (310) 541-7613.
