Did you know that this is National Parks Week?  There are 401 National Parks in America, and they include seashores, battlefields, historic homes, archeological sites and spectacular natural areas.  There is at least one national park in every state. 99% of counties in America have recreational facilities such as playgrounds and trails which are funded by the National Park Services Land & Water Conservation Fund.

Here on the Peninsula, Palos Verdes homes owners are surrounded by a large number of parks. We have both Staffed Parks and Drop-In Parks located throughout the area. Our larger Staffed Parks include, Abalone Cove Shoreline Park, Fred Hesse Jr. Community Park, Ladera Linda Community Center, Point Vincente Interpretive Center & Robert E. Ryan Community Park.  These larger staffed parks offer more services to the public such as rest rooms, activity rooms, playground areas and some even offer facility rentals.

Drop-In Parks which are not staffed include:  Clovercliff Park, Del Cerro Park, Eastview Park, Founders Park, Frank A. Vanderlip Sr. Park, Grandview Park, Marilyn Ryan Sunset Point Park, Martingale Trailhead Park, Pelican Cove, Point Vicente Park/Civic Center and Los Caninos Dog Park.
