Las Candalistas will be celebrating the forty-fourth year of its Annual Spring Fundraising Event now called “A Day In The Garden“, (formerly A Walk On The Wild Side) for Palos Verdes homes owners to enjoy.  This Spring fundraiser supports our local charities and is a fun event for all.

A Day In The Garden will take place on Friday, May 17, 2013, from 10:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the South Coast Botanic Garden.  The day will include favorites from the Walk, such as their specialty vendors which includes boutique and garden shopping, found treasures, and of course baked goods.  Following the informal fashion show, they will  have interesting speakers who will discuss landscaping, gardening techniques and entertaining, etc.

Las Candalistas are known for their artistic talents, but their cooking traditions have brought people back to the Walk for years.  The menu this year was by Made By Meg and consists of a gourmet picnic lunch.

A Day In the Garden will not only be a fun event, but it will also be an opportunity to enjoy the Botanic Garden during this flower blooming Spring season.

Tickets for the event are $50 (pre-sale if purchased by May 10) and $60 if purchased after May 10, 2013.  Twenty per cent of the ticket sales will be donated back to South Coast Botanic Garden.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Las Candalistas philanthropies of Pediatric Therapy Network, Toberman Neighborhood Center and Harbor Interfaith Services.

For reservations for this event visit www.lascandalistas.org or call (310) 798-7499.  Tickets will not be sold at the site, so be sure to purchase them before attending.

The South Coast Botanic Garden is located at 26300 Crenshaw Boulevard, Palos Verdes Peninsula. Some parking will be available in the parking lot, and overflow parking will be in the County Sanitation District Lot (on Crenshaw south of the Garden).  Follow the signs and a shuttle service will be provided.
