Palos Verdes Concours D’Elegance “Pleasure Road Rallye”

road rallye 2013

On September 14, 2013, the Palos Verdes Concours D’Elegance Pleasure Road Rallye will be exploring the roots of what now forms the cities on the Palos Verdes Peninsula circa 1927 (which is called The Age of Elegance).

Again this year, it will start at the Rolling Hills Country Club with lunch and registration from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and participants will get a bit of history of the Peninsula.  At 2:00 p.m. the actual “Pleasure Road Rallye” will begin, taking full advantage of the wonderful beautiful ocean views which surrounds the Peninsula.  During the 2 hour drive there will be a few brain teasers, and some interesting stops, including special access to the Point Vicente Lighthouse.  While the rest of the sites are a secret, stunning views will be enjoyed while winding through our Peninsula roads.  You will be stopping at different historical locations and will finish at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates where a reception will be held honoring this year’s Grand Marshal Peter Brock.

This is totally a pleasure rallye so all beginners and experienced rallye participants are encouraged to join in.  There will be hot rods, classic cars and even the family car is welcome to join – driving and exploring for fun.  The entry cost will include lunch and the Grand Marshal’s reception (which starts at 5:00 p.m and goes until 10:00 p.m.) with a hosted beer, wine & champagne reception.  The entry cost of $200 includes both the driver and navigator.  Children under 12 ride for free.  Any additional guests may travel with you enjoying both the lunch and reception for a price of $95.

For a full day of fun, which also includes the Helicopter Golf Ball Drop for prizes and the Grand Marshal’s reception, purchase your tickets at www.pvconcours.org under the Road Rally tab.
