Palos Verdes Estates residents will be able to request special service for Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day provided by Athens Services. This door to door collection will take place on Friday, November 8, 2013, and will only be available for those customers who sign up in advance. This is a great opportunity to have miscellaneous hazardous products picked up that you should not throw in the trash.
In order to schedule a collection you must call customer service at (888) 336-6100 to notify them of the items and quantities that you wish to have picked up. A documented list of items and quantities will be required. There is a one time fee of $35.00 for this pick up and disposal.
For this special collection, Athens will pick up florescent light bulbs (FEL’s), oil, paint, household & car batteries, and antifreeze products. All items must be placed for collection on your porch.
Additionally, throughout the year the S.A.F.E. Collection site (household hazardous waste) is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 1400 N. Gaffey Street, San Pedro, 90021.
