Palos Verdes Holiday Traditions!
The holidays are here and Palos Verdes homes owners can enjoy many upcoming events. There are tree lighting celebrations, holiday parades, Nutcracker ballets, visits with Santa and more. Here are just a few of the events coming our way:
On Saturday, December 6, 2014, the City of Rolling Hills Estates’ annual Parade of Lights will take place with many local community groups and businesses sponsoring floats and participating in the parade. The parade will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and will travel along Silver Spur Road, Deep Valley Drive and the Center Drive. There are floats, bands, animals and of course Santa to make this an event to remember. It is suggested you come a little early to find yourself a great viewing spot. The Palos Verdes Performing Arts (formerly Norris Theatre) will be presenting “The Best of Doo-Wop at Christmas” on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. You will hear music from such classic groups as The Tokens, who famously sang “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and original Coaster musician Leon Hughes and his group will be singing “Yakety Yak” and “Charlie Brown.” The Platters Tribute Group will be preforming, and so will Billy and the Corvettes Band. The comedy host for the night will be Scott Wood. This last of the season series and the one-night show will sell out quikly so plan to get your tickets soon. The Nutcracker Ballet will be presented by two different studios this month and held at the Palos Verdes Performing Arts center. They are: Classical Ballet Theatre presenting “Highlights from The Nutcracker” on December 14, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., with ticket prices of $20 adult/$10 children under 12. On December 20 & 21, 2014, the Palos Verdes Ballet will be presenting their production with show times on Saturday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 21, 2014, at 1:00 & 5:00 p.m. The cost for tickets is $32 adult/$22 children.
