Palos Verdes Parks Offer Facility Rentals


Have you ever wanted to have a party but don’t have the space?  Well Palos Verdes homes owners have a great selection of locations here on the Peninsula to help provide the perfect venue.  Whether your looking for a special party location, wedding ceremony, classes or meeting area, Palos Verdes residents have many different options.  You can choose from a playground arena, or an enclosed facility to hold your special event to accommodate 15 – 150 people.  Below is a list of park facility rentals that each have their own special niche.

Robert E.Ryan Community Park is located at 30359 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes.  This beautiful park has a small indoor facility with one room available for rent.  The Activity Room will accommodate 30 people and has a linoleum floor, sink, counter space and small outdoor patio.  This is a great location for children’s parties or classes.  The patio can accommodate an additional 20 guests. Fred Hesse Jr. Community Park is located at 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes.  The facility has three rooms that are available to rent.  McTaggart Hall  holds up to 150 guests and was formerly the community hall.  The room has carpeting includes a wet bar and has a small outdoor patio.  There is  a 12′ x 12′ portable wooden dance floor available at a small charge.  The Fireside Room is a cozy carpeted room which is suitable for approximately 40 guests for meetings and small parties.  The room has counter space, couches and a fireplace.  There is an outdoor patio which makes it great for indoor/outdoor events.  The Activity Room will accommodate up to 40 guests.  This room has a painted concrete floor, counter space & sink and tables & chairs which makes a great location for a child’s party.  For more information and prices call (310) 541-8114.

Ladera Linda Community Center is located at 32201 Forrestal Drive, Rancho Palos Verdes.  This Community Center has several classrooms and a Multipurpose Room for rent.  The Multipurpose Room will accommodate up to 125 guests and has a linoleum floor and use of a small kitchen area with a sink, counter space, refrigerator and microwave.  The classrooms will accommodate up to 40 people and are perfect for meetings and classes.  Some rooms are carpeted while others have a linoleum floor.  Tables and chairs are available for use.  For more information and prices call (310)-541-7073.

Point Vicente Interpretive Center is located at 31501 Palos Verdes Drive West, Rancho Palos Verdes.  This park is known for its sunning ocean views, and is located on the cliffs adjacent to the Point Vicente Lighthouse.  This natural setting by the sea is a wonderful location for an outdoor wedding in the Ibrahim El Hefni Amphitheatre, and a reception or other special event in the Sunset Room, with use of the large outdoor patio.  This facility can hold 150 guests.  There is also kitchen facilities, tables and chairs available.  For more information and prices call (310) 377-5370.

Founders Park is located on Trump National Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes.  This park is great for a small stand up ceremony (up to 15 people, plus the wedding party) for any one hour block of time between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  The cost is $475 which includes a refundable security deposit of $175.  The security deposit will be returned approximately 4 – 6 weeks following the event, provided all conditions are met.  There are no chairs, props, etc., however, minimal flower decorations are permitted.  Parking is available in the Public Lot on the left just before you get to the Trump National Clubhouse (or if full, parking is permitted on Trump National Drive).  This Park can be used for the ceremony only; you cannot have the reception on park grounds.  For more information call (310) 544-5260.

General Information:  The outside picnic areas of Ryan Park, Ladera Linda, Hesse Park and the Point Vicente Interpretive Center are not reserved and are available to the public on a first come basis.   There are barbecues at Hesse Park and Ryan Park in assigned areas.  None of the city parks allow bounce houses, canopies, tents or large animals.
