Palos Verdes Estates Hosts Energy and Environment Expo
Palos Verdes Estates will be hosting its first Energy and Environment Expo on April 18, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is a free event for Palos Verdes homes owners to enjoy and will take place on the greenbelt located in front of the Palos Verdes Estates City Hall & at the Civic Center Park adjacent to City Hall located on Palos Verdes Drive West. During the event, the City and its waste hauler Athens Services will be providing free compost (while supplies last) to residents who bring their own sturdy containers or buckets. Athen’s compost is a blend of organic material including food waste. It is OMRI Listed, licensed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, and approved for use in agricultural operations certified organic under the USDA National Organic Program. This is a self service program and compost cannot be placed in plastic bags, but shovels will be provided. There will be a 30 gallon limit while supplies last.
There will also be several exhibitors with information on Protecting our Valuable Environment, Going Green, Sustainability and Energy Conservation. There will be learning booths (to assist residents in understanding these valuable tools), food will be available for purchase and additional fun activities will be provided.
