Palos Verdes Little League Registration Is Open!
Palos Verdes home owners who are looking to get their children into local little league should note that now is the time to register. The Palos Verdes Peninsula is divided into 4 separate Little League divisions. The boundaries are determined by your property address. However, if you live outside of a league’s boundary, but attend school within their boundary, you’re allowed to register with that league.
Registration for the 2016 Spring season has just opened and will remain open until December 31, 2015. This year the registration process has changed. You will need to create a new login ID and password. “League age” will determine what division your child is placed in. After entering your child’s birthdate, a league age will be calculated and the division that he or she is eligible to play in will open for registration. Registration will automatically assign you to a division based on your child’s age, but you will have the option to play in a lower division.
Divisions available by league age are: Tee Ball for ages 4 – 6, Farm division ages 6 – 7, Minor division ages 8 – 9, Intermediate division ages 10 – 11, Major division is age 12. If you are requesting to play up a division, it will be determined by the draft, and therefore by the managers in the division.
Important dates for Little League are: Opening Weekend is February 27-28, 2016, (games may start the week leading up to opening day depending on the number of teams), Spring Break has no games from Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 10, 2016, and the Post Season Tournament is targeted for May 26 thru June 4, 2016 (Closing Day). This includes games during the entire Memorial Day weekend.
