Palos Verdes Woman’s Club 60th Annual Garden Tour
The Palos Verdes Woman’s Club will be celebrating Springtime Splendor with its 60th Annual Garden Tour on Saturday, May 14, 2016. The tour will feature beautiful Peninsula gardens and includes a catered box lunch served at Hesse Park in Rancho Palos Verdes from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Established in 1926, this community organization provides social projects to enhance the community. The first activity organized by the Club was a Sunday school program held at Malaga Cove School, then dance classes and other social functions aimed at bringing together the residents of the Palos Verdes community. These activities continued through the Great Depression, World War II and now the 21st Century.
The Club hosts two major fund raising events each year which are the major source of revenue for the Club’s philanthropies. The Spring Garden Tour which is being on May 14, and the Books and Authors Luncheon held in the Fall help the Club raise funds which are awarded as scholarships to award-winning graduating seniors from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. These students have shown incredible work ethics toward their achievements and have received community service awards. The remaining funds are distributed to local charities.
Tickets are $40 pre-sale and $45 on the day of the tour. You can purchase tickets at Corners of the World – #1 Malaga Cove Plaza, Palos Verdes Estates, or Nantucket Crossing, 867 Silver Spur, Rolling Hills Estates, or the SOIL Kiosk located at 1799 S.
