Palos Verdes Estates 2016 Free Shredding & E-Waste Collection
The City of Palos Verdes Estates will once again be holding its Annual Free Shredding and E-Waste Collection Event in partnership with waste hauler, Athens Services. This event will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2016, and is a great time to shred and dispose documents that you have been saving. You also have an opportunity to dispose of electrical items that cannot be picked up with regular trash collections.
Palos Verdes Estates residents (please bring proof of residency) can bring all of these articles to the Palos Verdes High School parking lot on Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The school is located at 600 Cloyden Road, Palos Verdes Estates. You can bring up to three “banker” sized boxes per household and all of your electronic waste. Electronic waste includes TV’s, printers, DVD players computers, etc. They will not accept hazardous waste such as paint, oil, light bulbs, etc.
Also, it is important to note that the City will no longer allow residents to drop off e-waste in front of City Hall because of safety concerns. So as an alternative in 2016, the City began hosting quarterly drop off events that are free to Palos Verdes Estates’ residents.
Additionally throughout the year, the S.A.F.E. Collection site (household hazardous waste) is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 1400 N. Gaffey Street, San Pedro.
For more information, please contact City Hall at (310) 378-0383 or Athens Services at (888) 336-6100.
