Palos Verdes 2017 Holiday Traditions
Palos Verdes homes owners can celebrate Holiday Traditions locally on the Peninsula with many upcoming events. There are tree lighting celebrations, holiday parades, Nutcracker ballets, visits with Santa and more. Here are just a few of the events coming our way:
On Saturday, November 18, 2017, the Promenade on the Peninsula will be hosting their Annual Tree Lighting ceremony at 5:00 p.m. This event will showcase local youth talent and there will be hot chocolate to sip on and a very special guest visitor.
Elite Dance Studio will be performing their “A Twisted Nutcracker” on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Warner Grand Theater located at 478 W. 6th Street, San Pedro. Tickets are available for $18/adults and $12/children under 12. To purchase tickets from the Warner Grand Theater go to http://wgt.tix.com .
The Nutcracker Ballet will be presented by several local dance studios at the Palos Verdes Performing Arts Center. The Classical Ballet Theater will be performing “The Nutcracker” on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at 1:00 & 4:00 p.m., with ticket prices of of $20 adult/$10 children under 12. Peninsula School of Performing Arts’ performances will start on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 2:00 & 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 3, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Tickets prices are $35 adults/$25 for children 17 and under. On Saturday, December 2, 2017, the City of Rolling Hills Estates’ annual Parade of Lights will take place with many local community groups and businesses sponsoring floats and participating in the Parade. This year, the parade’s Grand Marshall will be Tracy Austin, former tennis pro. Community Grand Marshall will be Jackie Crowley, who is the citizen of the year. Celebrity Grand Marshall will be Larry Joe Campbell, actor. The parade will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will travel along Silver Spur Road, Deep Valley Drive and the Center Drive. There are floats, bands, animals and, of course, Santa to make this an event to remember. You may want to come a little early to find yourself a great viewing spot.
