Palos Verdes Celebrates 2018 Kids To Parks Day Fun!

kids to parks day

Palos Verdes homes owners have a great opportunity to take their children to the National Celebration of Parks on Saturday, May 19, 2018.  This special Kids To Parks Day is a reminder of the importance that nature and playing in the great outdoors are for our children.  To celebrate this special day, two local parks have planned great activities for families to enjoy.

The Point Vicente Interpretive Center will be celebrating their third Annual Kids To Parks Day from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  This event will take place at the Interpretive Center and will feature a puppet show hosted by the Los Serenos de Point Vicente volunteers.  They will also have sea themed crafts, games, and more for the whole family.  You will also be able to tour the museum, and take a relaxing walk by the sea.  This is a free event.

The Point Vicente Interpretive Center is located at 31501 Palos Verdes Drive West, Rancho Palos Verdes.

Ladera Linda Park will also be celebrating Kids To Parks Day on Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  You can begin by taking a free docent-led hike starting at 9:30 a.m., which will last for 30 to 45 minutes long.  You will also be able to tour the Discovery Room and Butterfly Garden, plus visit the Critter Squad booth where you will see reptiles, bull frogs, creepy crawlies and more.  There will also be goats visiting that you can feed and pet, plus a sea lab where you can touch starfish and other sea critters.  While there, join in the scavenger hunts, cornhole and hula hoop games with prizes.  If you are interested in crafts, you will be able to paint your own birdhouse or butterfly house.  This is a free event.

Ladera Linda Park is located at 32201 Forrestal Drive, Rancho Palos Verdes.
