Enjoy Palos Verdes Library District’s September’s Free Movies!

pvld

The Palos Verdes Library District has some great free movies that they will be showing in the month of September 2018.  All PVLD locations were closed for Labor Day, so there will be no Classics at Noon movie this month. Each month they offer a different selection of foreign movies, “latest” releases,  and classic cinema.  Most of the screenings will have some post film discussion which adds an opportunity to socialize with others in the community.  The PVLD’s Ciné-Monde, a film series featuring notable films from around the globe, will be screening NINOTCHKA at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018, in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room.  This movie is about a stern Russian woman sent to Paris on official business who finds herself attracted to a man who represents everything she is supposed to detest.  This event is free and open to the public.

The Multiplex film series (featuring notable, popular and recent American releases from Hollywood) occurs on the fourth Thursday of the month on September 27, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  In September they will be presenting THE POST, which is a movie about a cover-up that spanned four U.S. Presidents, pushed the country’s first female newspaper publisher and a hard-driving editor to join an unprecedented battle between the press and the governmentThese movies are free and open to the public.  Following the film, there may be a brief discussion facilitated by the coordinator of the series.
All of the film screenings will take place at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room.  The Peninsula Center Library is located at 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates.  For more information regarding any of the films, call 310-377-9584.
