Palos Verdes Basketball Association’s 2018 Registration Is Open!
Palos Verdes residents who are interested in helping to grow their children’s basketball skills may know that the season is ready to begin. Registration is now open for the PVBA Winter 2018 – 2019 season. Kindergarten, 1st grade boys and 2nd grade boys will play on lower age appropriate 8 foot baskets. Each team will have 8 players and they will play locally inside the Peninsula High School Field House Gym basketball court. The games will usually be played on Saturday afternoons. This is a game where everyone plays, with no standings, try outs or play offs. 3rd through 8th grade boys teams and 2nd through 8th grade girls teams will begin on December 1, 2018. Tryouts are held in the beginning of October. The last game before Winter Break will be played on December 22, 2018, then return from Winter Break with games starting back up on January 6, 2019. There will not be games on Presidents Day weekend. The finals will be played on Sunday, March 3, 2019.
Team tryouts will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2018, Sunday, October 14, 2018 and on Saturday, October 20, 2018. On Sunday, October 21, 2018, make ups will take place.
A new program is available for Palos Verdes residents who are interested in celebrating the Inaugural Season of Challengers Basketball. The Challengers Basketball program is being created with help from PVBA so that boys and girls with physical and mental challenges can enjoy the game of basketball. The program is non-competitive, no scores are kept, and the focus is on basketball fundamentals and fun. To read more on the Challengers Program click here.
