Enjoy Palos Verdes Library District’s January & February 2019 Free Movies!
The Palos Verdes Library District has some great free movies that they will be showing in the months of January and February, 2019. Each month they offer a different selection of foreign movies, “latest” releases, and classic cinema. Most of the screenings will have some post film discussion which adds an opportunity to socialize with others in the community. In January and February, the following movies will be presented.
The PVLD’s Ciné-Monde, a film series featuring notable films from around the globe which are shown on the second Thursday of the month, will be screening WILD TALES on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This feature consists of six short stories that expose the extremities of human behavior with people in distress. This event is free and open to the public.
The Multiplex film series will be offering a very special double feature on January 24, 2019, at 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. with two different film adaptations of Alexandre Dumas’s classic tale THE THREE MUSKETEERS. At 3 p.m. enjoy the Disney retelling of Dumas’ classic swashbuckling story of three swordsmen of the disbanded French king’s guard plus one young man who dreams of becoming one of them and wants to save the King. At the 6:00 p.m. show, a hot headed young D’Artagnan along with three former legendary but down on their luck Musketeers, must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous boss. Watch both, and compare!
Classic Movies at Noon, which shows films from the 1930’s through the 1990’s on the first Tuesday of the month, will be screening on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, SAY ANYTHING in the Malaga Cove Gallery. This movie is about a noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian who fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.
