Enjoy Palos Verdes Library District’s May & June 2019 Free Movies!
The Palos Verdes Library District has some great free movies that they will be showing during the months of May & June 2019. Each month they offer a different selection of foreign movies, “latest” releases, and classic cinema. Most of the screenings will have some post film discussion which adds an opportunity to socialize with others in the community. In May and June the following movies will be presented.
The Multiplex film series will be offering a very special feature on May 23, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – A QUIET PLACE is about a post-apocalyptic world, where a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra sensitive hearing.
Classic Movies at Noon, which shows films from the 1930’s through the 1990’s on the first Tuesday of the month, will be screening on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at noon, SOME LIKE IT HOT (1959) in the Malaga Cove Gallery. The story is about two male musicians who witness a mob hit, then they flee the state in an all female band disguised as women, but further complications set in.
The PVLD’s Ciné-Monde, a film series featuring notable films from around the globe which are shown on the second Thursday of the month, will be screening THE GREAT GAME (France, 2015) on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This film is about Joseph Paskin who casually approaches the sullen Pierre Blum outside a French casino. Joseph pretends not to recognize the all but forgotten novelist, though time will soon reveal that there are no coincidences where Paskin’s characher is concerned.
