Enjoy Palos Verdes Library District’s September 2019 Free Movies!
The Palos Verdes Library District has some great free movies that they will be showing during the month of September 2019. Each month they offer a different selection of foreign movies, “latest” releases, and classic cinema. Most of the screenings will have some post film discussion which adds an opportunity to socialize with others in the community. In September, the following movies will be presented:
Classic Movies at Noon, which shows films from the 1930’s through the 1990’s on the first Tuesday of the month, will be screening on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at noon, THE WIZARDS OF OZ (1939) in the Malaga Cove Gallery. The story is about a young girl named Dorothy Gale, who is swept away in a tornado from a farm in Kansas to a magical land called Oz. She then seeks to find a way to return home to Kansas and help the new friends she has recently made.
The PVLD’s Ciné-Monde, a film series featuring notable films from around the globe which are shown on the second Thursday of the month, will be screening CAPERNAUM (Lebanon, 2018) on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This film is about a 12 year old boy who is serving a five year sentence for a violent crime and decides to sue his parents for neglect.
The Multiplex film series will be offering a very special feature on September 26, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME? (2018) is about Lee Israel who falls out of step with current writing tastes, and decides to turn her art form into one of deception.
