Palos Verdes Weekend Local Events!

Palos Verdes homes owners have some great events happening this weekend here and around the peninsula.  Whether you are into music, pastel paintings or just enjoying a pumpkin hunt, there is something for everyone.

Starting this Saturday, November 9, and running through November 23, 2019, the “Pastel Extravanganza” art show will be featured at the Riviera United Methodist Church.  This event is sponsored by the Pastel Society of Southern California (PSSC), and will showcase nearly 50 high quality framed paintings which are also available for purchase.  An opening reception will be held this Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  This is the Society’s tenth annual showcase featuring its members’ works.  The ongoing gallery hours are 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday through Sunday until November 23, 2019.  The Riviera United Methodist Church is located at 375 Palos Verdes Blvd, Redondo Beach.

The Rolling Hills United Methodist Church presents Second Sundays At Two concert series at 2 p.m. on select second Sundays throughout the year.  RHUMC Music Director Charles Dickerson serves as Artistic Advisor for this series of free afternoon recitals and chamber music concerts from September through June (except during the month of December and the month of Easter when there are other musical offerings at RHUMC).  Admission is FREE but donations are always appreciated which goes directly to the artist.  This Sunday, November 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., pianist Steven Vanhauwaert with the Inner City Youth Orchestra under the direction of Charles Dickerson III, will be featured.  This is sure to be a great afternoon of music.  For more information call (310) 316-5574 or visit the website at http://rhumc.org/concerts-at-rolling-hills/.  Rolling Hills United Methodist Church is located at 26438 Crenshaw Boulevard, Rolling Hills Estates (NE corner of Crenshaw & PV Drive North).

The Great Pumpkin Hunt is taking place at the South Coast Botanic Garden until November 30, 2019.  If you haven’t already visited, come celebrate Autumn with this perfect fall excursion in the Garden!  This is an annual tradition that has you out exploring picturesque areas of the Garden in search of hidden pumpkins leading you to the unexpected. This is a definite bring your camera or cell phone for plenty of photo opportunities along the way. Walking shoes, sunscreen and water bottles recommended – all ages welcomed and encouraged!  This fun event is free with general admission.

The South Coast Botanic Garden is located at 26300 Crenshaw Blvd, Palos Verdes Peninsula.
