Enjoy Veteran’s Day National Entertainment Free Online Concert!
In observance of Veterans Day, the Battleship USS Iowa Museum which sits at our Port of Los Angeles, and The Veterans National Entertainment Workshop will present VETERANS DAY WEST 2020. Battleship USS IOWA and Veterans National Entertainment Workshop honor all veterans – living and deceased – who have served our country for their service and sacrifice. In these difficult pandemic times with social and economic hardship, they hold the values of service and support, the power of unity, and the legacy of “working together” that have made this country strong. They have decided to put together a free online program on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. with the theme of United We Stand – Stronger Together. This program will feature U.S. military veteran performers from around the country singing popular songs. The concert will also feature a special performance by world renowned soprano, Renee Fleming and several celebrities including Rich Little, Tanya Acker and more. The Battleship USS Iowa, which served our country proudly in World War II, Korea and the Cold War, is now open for visitors. Today, the historic U.S. Navy ship is an iconic Los Angeles landmark and considered one of the area’s best outdoor museum for families and visitors of all ages. During your fresh air visit and tour, you will follow in the footsteps of sailors with their mischievous mascot Vicky the Dog, and experience firsthand why the Battleship is known as the “Battleship of Presidents,” “The Grey Ghost” and “The Big Stick.” The cost to visit the ship is $19.95 for adults/$16.95 for seniors and military/$11.95 for children 3 – 11, and under 3 are free.
