Palos Verdes Library District January 2023 Activities!
The Annex will be opening soon! This is a great place for middle and high school students to get together after school to read, work on group projects, play games and participate in teen programs. This project is funded by the Peninsula Friends of the Library, and has its new permanent location on the roof at the Peninsula Center Library.
Anytime Activity – Origami Fun – will be offered anytime in January. Kids in TK – 5th grade can come in and try some simple origami while looking for hidden origami animals in the library. They can work at their own pace and enjoy more than once this month.
Field Trip to Bluff Cove – sponsored by the Palos Verdes Gem & Mineral Society. The event will take place on January 21, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at the trail head on Paseo del Mar in Malaga Cove above Flat Rock Point. The unpaved trail is steep and rocky so sturdy footwear is recommended. Jason Badgley referred to as the “Malibu Agate Guy” will be leading the walk.
Movies at the Library – will take place on the fourth Thursday of the month (January 27, 2023) at 2:30 p.m. in the community room at Peninsula Center Library. This month’s movie will be the 2021 version of West Side Story.
TechKnows – Drop-in Tech Help
On Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the Peninsula Center Library Community Room will have drop-in help to assist you with all your tech questions. Whether its your kindle or how to download e-books, their knowledgeable team can help you.
Board Games At the Library For Adults
On Monday, January 9, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., you can join instructors and other neighbors at the Peninsula Library Purcell Meeting Room and enjoy some fun board games.
The Miraleste Library Book Club is on the second Saturday of every month at 1:00 p.m. (January 14, 2023). Each month read a different book! This month it will be Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. The Malaga Cove Book Club will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, with The Promise by Damon Galgut.
